Online homelessness guide could improve third sector communications

Written by Isabel Griffith

A homelessness charity has set up a new website to help improve its third sector communications.

Thames Reach has teamed up with the Mayor of London to publish an online guide for central and eastern Europeans sleeping rough in the capital.

Routes Home is part of the Mayor's commitment to end rough sleeping in London by the end of 2012 and builds on Thames Reach's London Reconnection team, which has helped over 350 people since it was set up 18 months ago.

The charity communications initiative offers information about how Europeans can return to their families and support services in their home country.

Jeremy Swain, chief executive of Thames Reach, commented: "The Routes Home website brings together in one place the learning and information we have accumulated through undertaking our reconnections work."

He added the online guide could help people rebuild their lives away from the streets.

The site features good practice guidelines and consulate information.ADNFCR-1578-ID-19914392-ADNFCR
