A national charity is urging supporters to register for a new campaign via its website. Harnessing the power and popularity of technology to improve its charity campaigning, Meningitis UK will run its Time 4 Tea scheme throughout September and is urging patrons to get involved. Celebrity chef Sophie Grigson has backed the campaign by making a recipe for Sticky Gingerbread available on the charity's website and is encouraging people to set up their own tea-themed events. A fundraising pack filled with tips and ideas can be downloaded from the website, while the first 120 people to register online for the charity campaigning initiative receive a selection of exclusive Toppers Teas and additional recipes. Fundraiser Emily Mitchard said: "The concept has already grabbed people's attention and we've had some really fun suggestions, from a Mad Hatter's Tea party to a bake-off and cake quiz." Meningitis affects thousands of people in the UK every year and can be hard to detect since its symptoms are similar to that of flu or the common cold. ![]() Information For Companies |
