Streets & Trips 2008 provides complete map coverage of the United States and Canada, including local roads and locations of 1.6 million hotels, ATMs, restaurants, and other services.

Streets & Trips' customizable trip planning options include:

  • Adding multiple destinations
  • Arrows, texts, highlighting, freehand drawing, and other personalized reminders
  • Importation of contacts from Microsoft Office Outlook and Excel
  • Free downloads of current road construction information to avoid lengthy detours and delays
  • Full-screen navigation with Driving Guidance, Dynamic Turn View, and an automatically magnified view
  • Live Search — results that automatically refresh as you move around the map
  • An easy reverse route option

The 2008 edition adds:

  • A perspective map view similar to the view through a windshield
  • Automatic rerouting to get back on track after a missed turn
  • Updated maps for the United States and Canada
Installing this product requires a licence key and installation media. Within 14 days of placing your order, instructions for obtaining the licence key will be sent to your organisation's registered e-mail address and free installation media will be delivered to your organisation's registered address.
Features: 
  • Under the Software Assurance programme, customers acquire the right to install any new release of products covered in the agreement during the term of their coverage.
  • Locate Me technology uses WiFi hotspots to pinpoint the user's location, and Re-route from Here recalculates directions from a new location.
  • A personal driving profile saves user preferences for start times, driving speeds, rest stops, and types of roads.
  • Voice-enabled directions talk the user through directions turn by turn.
  • Nighttime viewing is easier on the eyes with the Night Map Style.

  • 128 MB for Windows XP Home and Windows XP Professional; 256 MB recommended
  • 256 MB for Windows Server 2003
  • Running additional applications simultaneously might require additional memory
  • 1.6 GB available hard-disk space (some users might require up to an extra 100 MB for System Files Update; hard-disk usage varies depending on configuration)
  • DVD drive
  • 800x600-pixel or higher-resolution display with 256 colors (higher resolution and more colors required for Driving Guidance feature)

Software:

  • Windows Vista; Windows XP Home/Professional with Service Pack 2; Windows Server 2003 with SP1; or later operating system
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later; Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 included (will not displace the primary browser)

Requirements for specific features:

  • For Voice Output — Windows XP or higher and compatible sound card
  • For Send To as attachment — Microsoft Exchange, Internet SMTP/POP3, IMAP4, MAPI-compliant messaging software
  • For Send To as picture — Microsoft Outlook 2000 or later
  • For Live search — broadband Internet connection recommended
  • For GPS functionality — a GPS device that supports NMEA 2.0 or later and a free COM port below 20
