Description: 

Norton AntiVirus 2008 protects computers from viruses, worms, Trojan horses, and spyware. In addition to scanning existing files, the programme can automatically scan all incoming and outgoing data without interrupting the user. It updates protection daily against the latest threats without user interaction. It blocks new threats from installing themselves even before their specific signatures have been identified.

The software requires Windows XP Home or Professional.

This donation includes a one-year subscription for protection and new feature updates. It includes the CD-ROM, but no box or user guide. A PDF version of the user guide is available from Symantec.

Note: Although Symantec does not provide telephone technical support for donated products, it does offer free online technical support on its award-winning web site.

Norton AntiVirus 2008 is also available in packages of 1, 10, and 25 licenses.

Features: 
  • New in AntiVirus 2008, Symantec Online Network for Advanced response (SONAR) technology identifies viruses and other threads before they've been added to Symantec's database.
  • Auto-Protect scans all incoming and outgoing email mesages and attachements, including compressed files, to help ensure that they are not infected. It also scans incoming traffic from instant messaging services and removes infections automatically.
  • Cookie protection detects tracking cookies and gives a user the option to delete or ignore them.
  • System scanning improvements let a user continue working on the computer with minimal impact on performance.
  • Security History creates a convenient, centralised location where a user can review detections and other actions taken by Norton AntiVirus.
