Online charity fundraising is being embraced by an animal-related charity eager to boost donation figures as it seeks to maximise the support it can give to four-legged friends.
A number of celebrities are lending their support to the project that will see works of art going up for grabs in an eBay auction aimed at generating funds for Cats Protection.
Now in its fifth year, the internet-based drive will see a total of 30 pieces being put up for sale and ready to purchase in December this year.
Each of the items are to be framed and it is hoped cash raised through the venture will help unwanted or abandoned cats and kittens in the UK.
As part of the project, celebs have been asked to draw around their hand, before signing the print and adding their own unique take on the pieces.
The famous faces to have signed up to the scheme include celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey and Welsh songstress Dame Shirley Bassey.
It is hoped the star status of those lending their artistic talents to the charity fundraising effort will help to beef up the amount of cash generated, with fans digging deep in order to get hold of original artwork from their favourite TV and music stars.
The online auctions are to run between December 1st and 11th and those wishing to take part in the event should log on and head over to eBay.
It has proven a big hit in previous years, with nearly £9,000 raised over the last four occasions.
The highest bid to date was for a piece by the artist Tracey Emin, who's paw print was snapped up for a cool £1,220.
Such a project goes to show how organisations can be creative in their charity fundraising efforts and drum up support using the might and reach of the world wide web.
And by choosing to conduct the bidding via a medium as large and well-known as eBay, Cats Protection looks sure to garner a large amount of support and even find assitance from people who may not have been aware of the cause and all it stands for prior to the auction.
And this year's effort may prove to be particularly popular, judging by the calibre of stars taking part in the drive.
As well as Ramsay and Dame Shirley, Strictly Come Dancing fans may be pleased to learn judge on the show Bruno Tomioli has got involved with the event, while viewers of hit US show Glee may wish to get their hands on an original work of art by the actress Heather Morris.
Comedy legend Terry Jones - who was part of the Monty Python troupe alongside John Cleese and Michael Palin, among others - has also signed up to the initiative.
Iconic actress Brigitte Bardot could prove a hit among film fans, while cricket supporters may be eager to see what England player Graeme Swann has come up with.
Meanwhile, creative pieces may be expected from illustrator Quentin Blake, as well as Viz cartoonists Simon Thorp, Chris Donald and Graham Dury.
