Accounting Professional 2008 provides a complete set of accounting tools that can help organisations carry out everyday financial tasks:

- Track and forecast inventory
- Monitor and forecast cash flow
- View, modify, and print more than 70 reports
- Track profit and loss
- Track edits and changes made to transactions and create an audit trail
- Transfer data to an accountant
Accounting Professional simplifies routine work because users can share and reuse common data across different forms rather than retyping information. It does not require technical training to install or accounting training to use. When organisations have existing financial information, the Startup Wizard helps them import it from QuickBooks, Microsoft Money, or Excel. The new Resource Center provides access to how-to articles, demos, and tips.
Integration with other Microsoft Office programmes provides features such as export to Excel and Word. The optional Analysis Tools can generate Excel PivotTable views and Microsoft Access database reports. Outlook with Business Contact Manager shares a single database with Accounting Professional, so information related to customers, vendors, prospects, and employees can be shared in real time between the two programmes.
Installing this product requires a licence key and installation media. Within 14 days of placing your order, instructions for obtaining the licence key will be sent to your organisation's registered e-mail address and free installation media will be delivered to your organisation's registered address.
- Under the Software Assurance programmeme, customers acquire the right to install any new release of products covered in the agreement during the term of their coverage.
- Up to five users can use the program at the same time, with support for high volumes of transactions and no limits on the number of records. Access to sensitive data can be controlled on the basis of user role.
- The Cash Flow Forecast tool can model different scenarios to help forecast future cash flows and inform decisions about customers to contact or bills to pay.
- After sending a copy of an organization's financial data to its accountant, users can continue working in Accounting Professional. When the accountant is done updating the books, the changes can be merged easily.
- Integrated third-party services are available for additional fees, such as ADP Payroll, Marketplace Services for selling on eBay, PayPal invoicing, Equifax credit profiling, online banking, and various credit card and debit card acceptance plans.
