Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange combines antivirus technologies with flexible content filtering for Exchange Server 2000, 2003, and 2007. With automatic scanning and repair capabilities, Symantec Mail Security's antivirus programme protects against viruses with minimal administrative oversight required, while its content filtering engine enforces company policies and protects confidential information.

Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange can scan both inbound and outbound email, including attachments, before any other process or client application takes place. To maximise administrative response to new virus outbreaks, Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange can perform proactive antivirus filtering, enabling administrators to automatically filter out emails based on subject line, message body, or attachment.

Integrated content filtering (available only for Exchange 2000 and 2003) can filter and block inappropriate content as well as confidential information, using highly customizable rules defined by an administrator. The filter detects content in most types of file attachments and can block files based on true file type (not just file extension).

Spam-detection features are available with a Premium AntiSpam subscription (must be purchased separately).

Installation File and Licence: When your donation request has been approved, CTX will send an email to your organisation email address containing download instructions. Symantec will send a second email within 7 to 10 days with a certificate valid for a user licence and the serial number needed for downloading. Symantec estimates download times will range from about 4 hours for T1 connections to 47 1/2 hours for 128-Kbps connections.
