Lync Server External Connector License - Enterprise (Includes Software Assurance)

This enterprise external connector (EC) license can be used only in conjunction with a standard Lync Server 2010 or Office Communications Server 2007 R2 EC license. It supports audio, video, and web conferencing and application-sharing capabilities for any number of external users or devices accessing a single installation of Lync Server 2010 or Office Communications Server 2007 R2.
The enterprise EC license additionally enables voice telephony features when used with Office Communications Server 2007 R2. Voice telephony features for Lync Server 2010 require a separate license, the plus EC license. To enable all features in Lync Server 2010, all three EC licenses (standard, enterprise, and plus) are needed.
Generally, an external user is defined as anyone who is not an employee of the organization. For example, external users can include clients, suppliers, and alumni of the organization. External users do not include independent contractors, agents, service providers, or other persons providing services to or on behalf of the organization holding the license.
The EC license may not be used as a means of reselling or repackaging Lync Server 2010 or Office Communications Server 2007 R2 as a hosted service.
License Only: This license does not require media, license keys, or setup codes.
Software Assurance: Under the Software Assurance program, you have the right to install any new release of products covered in the agreement during the term of your coverage.
