Lync Server User CAL - Standard (Includes Software Assurance)

This standard user client access license (CAL) supports the instant messaging, presence, and PC-to-PC audio and video communications capabilities of Lync Server 2010 or Office Communications Server 2007 R2 for one user from any device (for example, when an employee accesses the server from a computer at work and another at home).
Additional licenses are required for audio, video, and web conferencing, application sharing, and enterprise telephony capabilities.
• An enterprise CAL provides all but voice telephony features when used with Lync Server 2010; voice telephony features require a plus CAL. To enable all features, all three CALs (standard, enterprise, and plus) are needed
• An enterprise CAL provides all these capabilities when used with Office Communications Server 2007 R2. To enable all features, both standard and enterprise CALs are needed.
Device CALs and an external connector (EC) license are also available. A device CAL authorizes one computer to access Lync Server 2010 or Office Communications Server 2007 R2, regardless of the number of users (for example, on a shared workstation). The EC license allows any number of external users or devices to access a single installation of Lync Server 2010 or Office Communications Server 2007 R2.
License Only: This license does not require media, license keys, or setup codes.
Software Assurance: Under the Software Assurance program, you have the right to install any new release of products covered in the agreement during the term of your coverage.
